The tea wall at Justamere holds over 75 different teas at any given time: classic black teas, green teas, whites, and oolongs, many of them organic, kept separate from the shop's own thirty medicinal house blends, mixed and labeled by hand.
For loose leaf tea Easton has nothing else like this wall, and this is loose tea the old way. You are not buying a box of dusty bags; you are buying the leaf itself, weighed out from a labeled jar, in exactly the amount you want. Try an ounce of something new next to a bag of your standby. Ask what is in a blend and you will get the actual answer, because the person selling it is the person who blended it.

Part one · The medicinal house blends
Every blend below is the shop's own recipe, bagged and labeled by hand. Sold loose by the bag.
* If you are pregnant or taking anti-depressants, skip the starred blends, and if you are pregnant or nursing, talk with your health provider before enjoying any herbal tea. Blend names are the shop's traditional recipe names; the shop shares the history of its herbs so you can explore, not to prescribe. Questions are always welcome at the counter.
Part two · The everyday drinking teas
Separate from the medicinal blends, this is the rest of the wall: black, green, white, oolong, herbal, and fruit teas, many of them organic. All of it loose leaf, weighed to order, and priced by the ounce.
Prices are per ounce and are the shop's counter prices; they change now and then as the shop's own costs do. Not seeing one you want? Call (410) 745-2227 and ask what is on the wall today.
Bring water to a boil. Add one teaspoon of blend per 8-ounce cup, loose or in an infuser, and steep 5 to 7 minutes. That is the whole ceremony, and the shop will walk you through it with your first bag.
One tip about your water. If your tap runs hard, it will flatten a good tea and leave a dull film on the surface of the cup. Filtered water is the easy fix, and the same leaf will taste noticeably brighter for it.

How it works
If you have only ever bought tea in a box, the wall can feel like a lot. It is not. The whole ritual takes five minutes and it is the best part of the errand.
First, browse the jars and read the labels; they are organized so the everyday teas and the medicinal house blends sit in their own sections. Second, point out the ones that catch your eye, and when the jar is opened to bag your tea you will enjoy the aroma, which tells you more than any description on a box. Third, say how much you want, from a single ounce to a generous bag, and it is weighed out and labeled in front of you. Fourth, ask how to brew it if you are not sure. If your habit is a strong morning mug, start among the classic black teas. If you drink your tea lighter and greener, the green shelf runs from everyday to delicate. If you are somewhere in between, oolong is the middle path, and the shop's oolong is a customer favorite for a reason.
The medicinal house blends are their own adventure: named, mixed, and bagged to the shop's own recipes. Ask which ones suit an evening cup and which ones people reach for in the morning, and build a little rotation. Most regulars keep two or three going at once, alongside whatever they found on the gift shelves that week.
One more habit worth stealing from the regulars: buy small amounts more often. Loose tea is at its best fresh, and with the shop two minutes from the square, restocking is hardly a chore.
Storage matters as much as freshness. Keep loose tea sealed, dry, and out of the sun, and it will hold its character far longer than the corner of a cupboard suggests. A simple tin or a jar with a good lid is all it takes, and the shop can bag your tea so the label rides home with it, name and all, which makes reordering as easy as reading it back over the phone.
And if tea is your love language, remember the wall at gift time.
